Question : Outlook 2010 fails to login via POP3 to SBS2008 server
I run a SBS2008 server with workstations connected by local LAN and also connecting via POP3 over the internet.
All has been working fine with Outlook 2007 on the workstations (Windows Ultimate). Outlook logs into POP3 fine on the server.
However when I upgrade Outlook on a workstation to Outlook 2010, outlook 2010 now fails to log in to the POP3 on the server. When I go to Test Account Settings in Outlook 2010, I get the message:-
"Log onto the incoming mail server (POP3): Your e-mail server rejected your user name. Verify your user name for this account in Account Settings. The server responded: -ERR Command is not valid in this state."
I upgraded a second workstation to Outlook 2010. Same result I loose connectivity to the SBS2008 mail server via POP3.
I looked at the settings in the Exchange Server 2007 (SP2) - cant find any problems. Outlook 2007 still; logs into POP3 on the server.
Any ideas?
