Question : Remove SBS 2003 Server from Domain since migrating to to 2008 R2 Domain
I just migrated our Small Business Server 2003 domain into a new Windows 2008 R2 domain. I`m
I migrated the FSMO roles and the Global Catalogue, now I just want to remove the Small Business server from even being seen as a domain controller (want to shut it down) and raise the functional level our domain to 2008 R2. So I guess it`s a double part question:
How do I get rid of this SBS 2003 Server from even being referenced as a DC in our Domain
And how do i successfully overcome the following message that I`m receiving when attempting to raise my domain functional level: ``The Functional Level could not be raised. The error is: The FSMO role ownership could not be verified because its directory partition has not replicated successfully with at least one replication partner``
I`m guessing this `replication partner` is the Small business server I want removed
Answer : Remove SBS 2003 Server from Domain since migrating to to 2008 R2 Domain
Unfortunately, no.
The regsrv32 process is a Windows process that must be running to register DLLs.
It's not a huge deal to deploy and capture again.
