Question : How do i create a dynamic motion guide in AS3?

Hello there.  i have a project where i need to have a movieClip move randomly smoothly at a set speed over the stage.  I don't want any jerky movements and whatnot.  i guess what i need is some type of random motion guide or something like that.  does anyone know of any other way or have example code that can do this for me?
