Question : How do I fix a memory problem on a dell precision 670?
Hello,
I have a Dell Precision 670 which I was setting up the other day and when I turned it on, I get a beep code of 1-3-2. When I finally found what the beep code represented, which is in a block of beep codes on the Dell website, it says that the memory is not correct or not recognized. Unfortunately, it's the same memory that was in the computer 2 months ago when it was working fine.
Because I wanted to upgrade, I went an bought brand new memory to put in the computer and it is still beeping 1-3-2. I've reset everything in the computer. Disconnected and reconnected every connection, literally. After it beeps, nothing happens. The fans stay running, but nothing ever comes up on the screen at all. I've tried removing the CMOS battery for a short time (about 5 minutes) and that didn't do any good. I'm tempted to remove it and leave it out over the weekend to see if that helps any.
Has anybody ever experienced this before? I'm getting frustrated with it.
Answer : How do I fix a memory problem on a dell precision 670?
It might be possible that both motherboards suffered from a bad batch of capacitors and are starting to expire at the same time. The closeness of occurrence could be coincidence.
