Question : help with differential equation (but algebra reall)

Hi

I have these equations

dZ/dt = aZ - bZL
dL/dt = -cL + dZL

I need to find the pairs (Z,L) where Dz/dt and dL/dt = 0

a = 0.05
b=0.001
c = 0.05
d = 0.00001

I can't get any sensible solution so I must be doing something silly as normal

aZ - bZL = 0
-cL + dZL = 0

aZ - bZL = -cL + dZL = 0
0.05Z - 0.01ZL = -0.05L +0.00001ZL

I can't solve anything after that

thanks

Answer : help with differential equation (but algebra reall)

The easiest way to do this (not necessarily the most obvious) is to get a copy of VMware Workstation, download VMware Converter, convert the physical image to a Virtual Machine and run the XP machine as a guest. There are other vm applications (XP Mode, Virtual Box) but I much prefer VMware. ... Thinkpads_User
