Question : A component's file does not match the verification information present in the component manifest

I did a fresh install of windows XP pro sp2 on my hard drive. install all drivers ok, But when i try to run the SP3 update, the install stop with error "A component's file does not match the verification information present in the component manifest". Any help is aprappreciated. thanks

I formatted the hard drive & reload OS again. This time i am able to load SP3 without the error. Still don't know why the error show up in the first place & don't know exactly the error message mean.
