Question : Hard drives out of a raid are not recognized

Hi, I had an array 10, and took two hard drives (1 TB ea.) because one of them was giving me problems
I dont know whick one is it cause I test them in pairs (with the RAID active, and on the pair that was giving me problems I took out BOTH. The problem now, is that when I connect any of this sata drives to my XP os, they don't get recognized, not even as a drive without format (I thought that at least it will discover a new hardware, but not even that)  I went into manage my computer and refresh storage devices but nothing. It is like they do not exist. I just want to test which one is bad to replace it.
Thanx for any help

Answer : Hard drives out of a raid are not recognized

The download for the latest version of Data Lifeguard is here:  http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=613&sid=3&lang=en

If you need to recover data from your RAID array, the best "do-it-yourself" utility to do this is Runtime's RAID Reconstructor:  http://www.runtime.org/raid.htm   (which I assume is what dlethe meant when he said "... If, however, you buy the runtime.org software ...."  -- but he didn't mention the specific product or provide a link, so I thought I'd clarify that).

The key question here is do you need to recover any data from the array ??
... or are you just trying to test the disks?
