Question : How to redirect requests to a particular web site to a local server?
We have computers in our facilities for customers to use. A particular web site we are affiliated with hosts some training videos on their site. We don't want the customers using the bandwidth to download the videos over the Internet so we've placed the videos on a local web server (IIS6) with a page to select them and such.
How can we redirect request to the original web site to our local server?
Say,
http://www.remoteWebsite.c
om/HugeVid
eos/
is the remote site
and
http://localVideos.ourdoma
in.com
is our local web site just for these videos.
Our server is w2k3 and customers do not have local Administrator rights on the machines. We tried a script to update the host files when someone logs into the computer, but the lack of Admin rights prevented that from working.
