Question : PowerShell: How to find a contact in W2k8 R2

I am writing a PowerShell script, but am new to using W2k8 R2. I am using the Active Directory module in PowerShell. I want to create a contact and need to make sure it doesn't exist by checking if the email address on the contact is the same as the one for the contact I am creating. Problem is that I see no value in the mail or mailNickname attributes for the contacts. If I look at the Attribute Editor in Users and Computers I see those values just fine. Is AD getting it from somewhere else and is it possible for me to check to see if a contact exists that way?

Maybe I'm the only one that's misunderstanding his question (very likely) or maybe I'm the only one who is getting it. I think he wants to open a single profile which holds the settings for a single e-mail account at a time. If this is the case, you have to create multiple profiles under  "control panel/mail" and check the "prompt for a profile to be used" option.
