Question : .link is now an extension on all of my programs
I am looking at a friend's computer. She linked files between her laptop and a desktop in the basement. However, now, anytime I try to open a program it tries to open all programs with a .link extension. It now also tries to recognize all dll files (msconfig, rundll32, etc.) as though they are linked files. Something weird definitely happened here. Trying to run any dll gives an error and xp wnats to know what was used to create the program in order to open the file. It's as though everything is connected to the desktop in the basement. I can't even open System Restore without it trying to view the system as linked. That program also has .lnk in it's extension now. Somehow many files also got compressed, not sure if it happened through the file linking process. Even Adobe Reader was compressed. Any ideas? I know I'm getting closer.
Answer : .link is now an extension on all of my programs
