Question : deskjet printer problem

This problem started w/ 2 print jobs stuck in the spool for the deskjet printer. To me, windows is not the best at deleting print jobs even if you right click on the printer and say delete still doesn’t seem to delete.

To get rid of the 2 jobs in spool I deleted 2 .spl files, but now for whatever reason the printer still seems to have a job in the spool even though none are listed. If you look at the systray you can see the printer icon still there, but when you double click on the printer icon there are no jobs listed.

The printer itself is fine. I hooked the printer up to another PC, installed it, and successfully printed pages from it.

On the problem PC, I’ve turned the printer off & back on, tried other USB ports, but still no luck. It just seems this printer doesn’t want to be deleted any way I try it.
The easiest way to fix this to me would be to restart the PC, but as you may see in one of the pics I’ve included, this lady sets a word record for running many things at once, and so she doesn’t want to restart it.

I could download the drivers from HP and run the setup file, but that could end up restarting the PC or locking up one of the many, many apps she has going; guess the apps could be the problem too.

My other guess would be to change or delete something in the registry, and hopefully that would delete the printer, let windows find it again, then start printing again…if that’s possible.

I’m just very curious to see if there’s a way to get this printer back going w/o restarting Windows.

HP DeskJet D2360
Thanks
