Question : How to access a folder on an SERVER when the domain server is offline ?
We have a Domain server (SERVER-A), which is our AD,DNS,Mail server....etc
We have another application server (SERVER-B), which everyone in our network access.
There is a shared folder on SERVER-B which everyone needs to have access to run the application.
So all the users in the network needs is access to "\\SERVER-B\SHAREDFOLDER"
Now during some maintenance we might take the SERVER-A, offline.
During this time I wanted to still have the network users access the application server(SERVER-B), but be able to access the \\SERVER-B\SHAREDFOLDER
The network users cannot access the above shared folder when the domain server(SERVER-A) is down.
Is there anyway I can make this \\SERVER-B\SHAREDFOLDER available to all users even if the domain server (SERVER-A) is down ?
I do not want to create a secondary DNS on the SERVER-B.
The \\SERVER-B\SHAREDFOLDER can be offline folder as well, users have to just read the files
from this location to run the application.
Answer : How to access a folder on an SERVER when the domain server is offline ?
I would try disabling "
Do not allow client printer redirection
" and see if that makes a difference.
