Question : USB Mouse and Keyboard Not Working

Somebody has just asked me how he can access his computer that's running Vista. The USB keyboard and mouse refuse to work on startup and he has no PS2 ports to use as an alternative. I don't know if he has tried to enable USB in the bios but assuming for now that he has is there anyway he can get into this computer anymore?

Answer : USB Mouse and Keyboard Not Working

Another simple trick can be to unplug all the usb devices and wait for windows to launch then reconnect and give the PC a few minutes to recognise them again.

I've posted this solution several times now but for desktops it's worth keeping one of these and a PS2 mouse and keyboard handy.  It's saved my skin on a number of occasions.
