Question : How can I update Microsoft SQL Server Native Client. Give error each time I try.

Our company has a program they use called "Checkpoint" It uses SQL server to function.  We are trying to update checkpoint which in turn starts the update process for SQL server.  I have called there tech support and they are clueless and cannot help.  Everything installs except the following SQL Native Client, SQL Data Base Server/ SQL VSS Writer.  

Below is what Event Viewers shows as the error.

Product: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client -- Error 1706. An installation package for the product Microsoft SQL Server Native Client cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package 'sqlncli.msi'.

I have been trying to fix this problem since Feb.  does anyone have any idea of what I can try next?

No issues..
Once you do the next step ie., install the Native client, it would work fine..
