Question : OpenOffice 3.2 GPO Install Problem

Hello all,

We have pushed OOO version prior to 3.2 using an MSI packager and Active Directory Group Policy. We have created a new MSI for v3.2. For some reason when this MSI is installed through the GPO, and the user logs in, they are getting a "Configuring Open Office", and it never finished, and seems to loop. We believe it is trying to install or write something to a folder on the hard drive the user does NOT have access to. Out domain users are restricted to writing to their profile folders and document folders. If the MSI runs as an admin user that has full rights, there is no problem.

We did not see this issue with previous versions on OOO. Can someone help us out, or tell us where it is trying to write to?

Thanks in advance.

Rob

Answer : OpenOffice 3.2 GPO Install Problem

Bear,  Sorry, no one commented in so long, I didn't notice this one came in.

We had write access given to the program files, C root, and the Windows folder for testing, and still no go.

We ended up using their own MSI, and just edited it with some tools.  Normally we use a clean install of windows, create the install of whatever software, then us an MSI packager.  That was causing problems this time, so we had to go another route.

Thanks for the guess.
