Question : Public Folder "Pretty" names not showing up in GAL
We are currently migrating from First Clas to Exchange. As we do this, we have newsgroup public folders set up that are synched with conferences in First Class.
The folders are synching and I have mail-enabled the public folders in Exchange so that the migrated users can send emails to the folders. I have set up the newsgroups with "pretty names" that reflect their name in First Class. In the properties of the folders, I have set the "Address list name" to be the same as the folder name, but the newsgroup simple name shows up in the GAL. I have tried changing the "Address list name" setting to
Use this name
and entered the name used for the "pretty" name. However, when I click apply, it reverts back to the
Same as folder name
setting. I can set it to something else and it shows up in the GAL with the alternate name, however we need it to be the same as the "pretty" name.
Answer : Public Folder "Pretty" names not showing up in GAL
So, your users might need to get used to the alternate names until the migration is complete. I don't see many options except waiting, but I'm only one here at EE and someone else might see it differently.
