Question : Vmware - tcp/ip not working on a converted physical windows xp to virtual box
Hello Everyone,
I am new to vmware so I thought I would try out the vmware converter. I convertered my windows xp box to a virtual image. The conversion worked, but the tcp/ip is all messed up. When I do a ipconfig I get nothing...just goes back to a prompt. The local area connection is enabled (VMware Accelerated AMD PCNet Adapter) The satus says it is connected, but nothing is being sent. I checked device manager and there is no issue with the network driver. I tried to repair the connection and I get the following message "failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection". So I thought the tcp/ip stack was corrupted. I burned winsockxpfix to a cd and tried that....did not work. I am not really sure what do next.
Has anyone every had this happen to them? Any advice?
Thanks,
Bill
