Question : open and export a sql database

hello

I have been given a .mdf database file and asked if i can get any of the details from it.  I have got as far as installing SQL server 2005 but not sure how i go about attaching the database file i have or exporting the information to something like excel.

From MS SQL Manager , Right Click on "Databases" from the Object Explorer
Select "Attach..."
Click the Add button
select your DB file
press OK
