Question : Vista won't recognize external usb sound card
Hi All - I am using an c-media usb external sound card to connect my logitech speakers to my computer. When I went to reinstall the driver I get an error message that the "c-media device does not exist. please plug in the device".
The device IS plugged in. The power light is
not
on. HOWEVER, when I touch the speaker cables to the ports on the card (line in, line out, etc) I can hear static sounds from my speakers. Which tells me that the card is getting power and therefore IS plugged in.
I'm running vista business and this card this driver has worked with these speakers perfectly for 5 years. Any ideas?
thank you!
Answer : Vista won't recognize external usb sound card
Try other USB ports, and also try it on another PC. If the device gets power that doesn't mean it is still working.
