Question : Can’t run GUI using ssh –Y
I have several server that I am backing up using “HP data protector Tape”. I have a desktop that has X windows, this way I can access my remote servers that doesn't have X Windows installed. I can access HP data protector remotely on all my servers except one of them that access it through character base.
The program I have has both Graphical and character based mode. With my other servers it comes as graphical but with this server it shows as character base, unfortunately character base is not supported by HP anymore. I am summing some packages might be missing on that particular Linux server which I don't know?
As you can see from the graphic below server 1 is Character base and server2 and GUI.
Only on one of my servers I can’t run any GUI application remotely using ssh –Y or -Yt.

Answer : Can’t run GUI using ssh –Y
Have you tried -X instead of -Y?
