Question : Problem installing Microsoft Exchange 2010
Until some time ago we had a mixture of exchange 2003 and exchange 2007 servers in our organisation. a couple of years ago we migrated from exchange to the Linux based Zarafa server - which is excellent, though the vendor who supplied it has gone under and now we have no access to technical support nor do we have any Linux skills in house. We have taken the decision to move back to Exchange.
When i run the exchange 2010 install on a new VM - it throws an error :
Coexistence between Exchange Server 2010 and Exchange Server versions older than Exchange Server 2007 SP2 in the same Active Directory Site is not supported.
I had thought that we had retired our old servers properly - but i guess not. If I run the Exchange Best Practices Analyzer it tells me it is trying to contact 2 servers - these servers no longer exist and - when looking inside ADSI Edit I cannot find them listed as exchange servers (at least not as far as i can see).
Help !!!!
