Question : IT Analyst
Hello
New user here , I am trying to configure OWA via a Sonicwall firewall. we have a WAN zone and a LAN zone.
no DMZ.
Tring to configure OWA via a Sonicwall 2040
we have two zoens :
WAN : with public IP address ( let's say 199.x range and primary interface as 199.1.1.1)
Lan : with private range ( 10.0.1.175)
Exchange server doesn't have a public IP assigned.
I defined an access rule and allowed http traffic ( on ports 8080 and 8181)
IIS ( on exchange box) is also set to work on port 8080.
This didn't work : page cannot be disalyed.
Then I setup a test webserver ( TCP 8080 ) and defined a NAT between primary interface and my server.
Again setup an access rule to allow traffic from WAN > LAN on myservice ( TCP 8080) - not able to see the website .
Am I missing something here ?
Does Sonicwall require a reboot or something to apply the changes ?
There are other rules as well , one of them actually denies eveything but I guess it should be there so everything else is denied unless
we specifically allow it.
Thanks

Use the Public Server Wizard on the 2040. What you are missing at the three NAT policies requireds to forward requests from the Public (and internal really with proper DNS) to the proper IP behind the firewall on the LAN.
