Question : Adding second processor to existing win 2008 server

If I install Win 2008 sbs or standard on a HP ML350 G6 and later want to add a second processor, do I need to reinstall or reconfigure anything? As it is in production I don't want have a long stop...

Answer : Adding second processor to existing win 2008 server

You need to do nothing. Windows 2008 willautomatically detect the new processor and update itself from UniProcessor to MultiProcessor. After which you will see 2 processors under device manager.

You might howver need to reactivate IF the OS changes to much.
