Question : Upgrading laptop hard drive

Hello experts.

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-FE650 FM; I want to upgrade the hard drive from 160 GB 5400 rpm SATA to 500 GB 7200 rmp SATA. The question is: are the two velocities (5400 and 7200 rpm) compatible?

The speed is a non-issue.  If the geometry is compatible with the machine, then you'll be fine.
