Question : Windows Server 2008 - RAID storage > 2 Tb

I just built a new Dell T410 with Windows Server 2008; dual Xeon 5620, 16 Gb RAM.  The intent is for this to be a dedicated SQL server.  System has (2) local SATA 250 Gb drives, and (4) 1.5 Tb drives on a Highpoint 640 RAID.  I installed the Highpoint drivers, then used the Highpoint utility to create and initialize the RAID-5, which now has 4.5 Tb (4.1 useable).  Initially, the drive ("2") was offline "because of a policy ...", but I brought it online.  However, Windows automatically broke it into 2.0 Tb and 2.1 Tb of unallocated space.  I can create a simple volume on the the the 2.0, but can do nothing with the other 2.1.  What I want is a 4.1 Tb single logical drive.  Is there a setting or something else I need to get Windows to recognize this?  or, is there something I can do with Highpoint tools?  Any help is appreciated.  Related:  When I install MS-SQL Server 2008, are there any particular settings I need to 1) set my RAID drive (F:) as my default SQL data location, and 2) to get SQL Server to see/use all of the 16 Gb of RAM.  Thanks,

Answer : Windows Server 2008 - RAID storage > 2 Tb

If memory serves, MBR is limited to 2TB drives.  GPT should go above that.  MAke it a GPT and try again (Your SYSTEM/BOOT drives cannot be GPT unless the system supports EFI instead of BIOS, but you can use GPT disks for storage.
