Question : Outlook 2010 keeps deleting appointments

I am using Office Pro+ 2010 on windows 7 and running exchange 2007 Ent. I am experiencing an issue with outlook where calander appointments that I create are deleted automatically and I find them in the deleted items. I then need to drag them from the deleted items to the calander to make them available again. All of them are future dated appointments.

I have done some research on Google and EE and taken all the steps suggested like turing off auto archive overall and on the calander, no end date set on recurrences, no delegates have access to delete appointments they can only view. I do have an iPhone with OS4 and synchronise back to exchange for mail and calander.

If anyone has any suggestions or experienced this issue, I would appreciate some feedback.

Answer : Outlook 2010 keeps deleting appointments

So if your keep your iPhone from connecting to your Outlook, Turn off or disable all Syncing.

Then you go and create an appointment for a future date, it will automatically get deleted?

If it does, might look at the following.

First check that Cached Exchange Mode is not on
under Tools>Account Settings
Open Account Details
Under Exchange Server Name you should see and option for "Use Cached Exchange Mode"
If its ticked, untick it.

Then try closing outlook and reopeing using
Start>Run>Outlook.exe /safe

try it here and see if it happens. If it doesnt then its likely there is a Add-In causing the problem

If it still happens I would close outlook and re-open using
Start>Run>Outlook.exe /cleanrules
This clears and resets all client and server side rules that may be deleting these appointments...
*Before running you may want to note down any current rules so that they may be re-setup later.
