Question : RPD to W2K3 SP2 failing - RPC server unavailable
Hi all
I've done a fresh install of Windows 2003 Web Edition SP2 (on ESX3.5) (something I've done countless times before), but after installing and updating to SP2 and all the available recommended updates, I cannot connect to it any more using remote desktop client.
Firstly, logging in at the console takes forever.
Secondly, when connecting with RDP it asks for login info, then takes just as long before popping up a message saying "The system cannot log you on due to the following error: The RPC Server is unavailable"
I've looked at technet forms, tried to apply a
hotfix
(which was for SP<2 i found out after getting hold of it), etc. One of my colleagues is saying that RPC errors is probably to do with domain issues. Looks like there are some issues if you look at the event logs (see images below).
I've also tried reinstalling SP2 but this made no difference.
Please help!
Thanks
TB

As far as the code for the buttons is concerned, often you can get a start by recording a macro to do the task in question, then editing it as needed.
