Question : Deploying Windows 7 via K2000

I am hoping there is someone out there who has figured this out.Can I do a scripted install of windows 7 via the kbox 2000. I have created an unattend.xml file using the Windows System Image Manager. I can deploy the scripted install and I am able to have a basic windows 7 install with only one prompt for the computer name.  I need to set up the end user desktop for them with the common apps and internet shortcuts on their desktop. I also need to configure a couple of apps with the correct settings to allow them to work right. On windows XP, this was easy as I would just create a default profile and image the PC. I can't do this here. So does anyone know how to deploy a scripted install of windows 7 and also setup a default profile?

Don't know that I will be of much assistance.

Looking at the file structure of the Worldship install on my computer, I would think that it is possible to accomplish what you are requesting, IF.....

First of all, you would need to be able to open/expand the .bak file that is generated to get to the files that were backed up.  Then there are .mdf files that SQL Database or Access uses.  If you have a copy of either, you may be able to open and access the databases.  Without knowing which is which, it would be hit or miss to find the proper records.  If they are accessible, then it would be fairly straightforward to export those into a .cvs file and import that into Worldship.

Without UPS support, this would be a job for the database guys, and that only if UPS hasn't locked down their database files.
