Question : No sound on pc after using HDMI cable

I connected my pc to my Sony surround sound system with HDMI so I could watch a DVD on my TV.  After I disconnected the HDMI, I do not have any sound on my pc.  I have tested my speakers and they are working.

what appears when you right click on "Speakers - Realtek High Definition Output - Working"?  
Set the speakers to be the default device and the default communication device.
