Question : vary title depending on base url in joomla

We have a site that can be reached from three completely different main urls. We want the page title for the home page to show up as the main part of the url, e.g. if we get there by http://fixorfind.com then we want the title to show up as fixorfind.com.

In site configuration you set a site name, and that ends up being the default for the home page. But it's a static string; if we set it to fixorfind.com then that would show up as the site title no matter what url we used to get there.

In the home page menu configuration we could use the advanced options to give a page title--but again it would be a static page title.

Question: is there a plugin or module or simple patch that would take care of this? We are using gantry framework but that probably doesn't really matter.

Answer : vary title depending on base url in joomla

I found a solution for you, but it requires a little bit of elbow grease.

here goes:

1- Download Title manager plugin for joomla (this workaround is actually a hack of this plugin)

http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/site-management/seo-a-metadata/3521?qh=YTo5OntpOjA7czo0OiJzaXRlIjtpOjE7czo1OiJzaXRlcyI7aToyO3M6NDoibmFtZSI7aTozO3M6NToibmFtZWQiO2k6NDtzOjU6Im5hbWVzIjtpOjU7czo2OiJuYW1pbmciO2k6NjtzOjY6Im5hbWVseSI7aTo3O3M6NzoibWFuYWdlciI7aTo4O3M6OToic2l0ZSBuYW1lIjt9

2-  Install the plugin

3- Don't forget to activate the plugin...  no configuration necessary

4- Replace the file plugins/system/titlemanager.php with the one attached in here

5- Enjoy
