Question : ASA port forwarding for TCP:445
How can I connect a shared resource on windows workstation in a private network to the workstation in the Internet? Share server located in a private network, connected with the Internet through a NAT (Cisco ASA). I made a static port forwarding for tcp:445, but it doesn't work. TCP packet is simply not reaching the server. How this can be implemented at ASA? Why
static (inside,outside) tcp interface 445 192.168.0.1 445 netmask 255.255.255.255
command work for every port, but tcp:445? Should I disable any inspection rule or somewhat else? Anyone have a solution? Does anybody know why ASA does not redirect TCP:445? Is there another way?
Thanks in advance.
Answer : ASA port forwarding for TCP:445
The ASA will not treat port 445 any different than any other port. A static combined with an access-list entry should be enough.
Some ISP's may block port 445.
