Question : server 08 std drive size problem
ok, i am installing server 08, 32-bit std on a dell server. dell has some virtual drive thing going on and it's giving me some grief.
i have four SATA drives on a RAID 5, each drive is 1 TB. when combined into the RAID 5, I have 2.72 GB of space. That's fine.
When I create my 100 gig OS drive, Windows breaks out the remaining space into two drives (one 1900 GB and one 750 GB). so, after the OS is installed, I cannot access the 750 GB drive. There are no options in disk management when I try to create a partition.
Is all of this a 2008 std limit or what?
Cliff
PS: I created a 100 gig partition for my OS, that left me with a 1950 gig and a 745 gig partition. I can allocate space on the 1950, but I get a 0x80042468 error when allocating space on the other drive.
Answer : server 08 std drive size problem
Personally, I would take a laptop off of your network and try activating it at home. That will pinpoint it to be either a network problem or a problem with your key with Microsoft.
