Question : configuring ms exchange for outbound mail

i want to configure my 03 exchange server to send mail out using message lab email server.

in the guide, it talks about setting an internet ip address on my exchange box

4. On the Prerequisites for Internet Mail page, read the requirements, ensure that you have completed the tasks listed, and then click Next.

Your server must satisfy the following conditions:

• The Exchange server that you want to configure for Internet e-mail has an Internet IP address assigned to it.

this doesnt make any sense.

i have the standard 192.168.1.xxx ip address assigned to my server.

i am not very clear with their directions.
