Question : problem with an exteranl hard drive
Hello,
I have bought an enclosure and have placed an ATA hard-drive in it.... things look OK and when I connect it to USB the drive letter doesn't show up. however, system says a USB drive is connected working properly but again no letter drive.
I have attached it to my laptop so I set it a slave (as far as jumper setting) but no luck.
what should I do? what I'm doing wrong here?
Thanks,
ak
Answer : problem with an exteranl hard drive
Set it as CS. Go in to Manage>Disk management and Change Drive letter on the usb device. Usb tends to grab the old DOS drive letter assignment regardless whether something else is there.
