Question : Install of XP sets up CDROM/USB/SD Media as C:/D:/E:/F:/G:/H: logical drives & hard drive is I:
I have never seen an installation of XP or any other operating system that set up logical drives for OTHER devices using C: as opposed to setting C: up for the primary hard drive.
The computer is a Gateway P4 3ghz with multiple media devices integrated with the motherboard. If I was able to disable all of them in the BIOS I would and re-install OS but I don't see where I can do that.
How do you recommend I resolve the problem at this point? In attempting to change the HD drive letter, it informs me that I can't change the drive letter for a boot drive. I would also have to change ALL entries in the registry pointing to I:\....
Sincerely,
Phil Tate
