Question : Change width of text object with formula

Can someone please refresh my memory about how to set a text box width using the formula button in Size and position dialog box. I know I have done this in the past, but can't find my previous example.

I can't make t work either.  I remember reading there is an issue with it and it may be solved in the Service Pack
