Question : Can't find the Printer "Server Properties" in Windows 7
I am very familiar with Windows XP Printer "Server Properties" when wanting to add and/or remove printer ports and drivers.
I can't find it in Windows 7 Home Premium
I have attempted to install the full blown HP Director" software (per HP Support) that works with the HP 6500 "All In One" printer. the printer was already installed with the basic driver. I should have deleted the printer prior to the HP Director install. The user needs the option to scan and fax from the desktop.
I unplugged the USB cable from the printer and proceeded with the installation which prompted a reboot to complete. Upon the reboot, it continued for several minutes and then failed. The failure appears to be a known issue. HP provided the following solution that came with the download
***If you encountered "Printer setup has failed to complete" error prompt, please do the following:
1.Click "Next" to proceed with the software installation
2.An "add a device" icon will be displayed on the desktop
3.Go to MS Windows 7\Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers folder
4.Right click on the printer icon and click on "Remove device"
5.Click "Yes" to confirm remove device
6.Select/Highlight any of the Printer and Faxes icon, and select "Print server properties".
7.Go to the drivers tab, select HP Officejet 6500 E709x Series and click "Remove"
8.Select "Remove driver and driver package"
9.Go to the desktop and click on the "add a device" shortcut to complete the software installation.
When I go to the Printers and Faxes, I don't see the printer - but I'm sure the driver is still installed from the original installation
My problem is: I can't find the printer "Server Properties"

If you go into Start > Devices and Printers, click on one of your installed printers, the 'Print server properties' button will appear on the top bar.
