Question : MFD printer authentication

We have a Sharp MX2600 MFD.

I have read several manuals on this. None have helped with the problem I will now describe.

When I enable authentication, to prevent anauthorised use of the photocopier, the authentication prevents domain users from printing out normally.

The machine is not AD intgrated, but uses PIN code authentication for expedient use of the copier.

I have entered the PIN code in the driver tab of the printer on the server, and created a corresponding account on the user accounts on the machine itself, as recommended, but it just doesn't work. When a domain user tries to print, the MFD stirs but does not print anything.

Our Sharp dealer here in Sweden, Office Management, is unhelpful.

The only way I can print out is to turn off authentication, but then anybody who walks past it can make unrestricted expenisve colour photocopies, unchecked.

Answer : MFD printer authentication

No problem:

1.  In Object Explorer in SSMS, navigate to SQL Agent
2.  Right click the agent and create a new job
3.  From there you can create steps (where you put your backup code) and schedules.  For the schedules, decide when you want the script to run.
