Question : Outlook 'cached' mode/ OAB query

Hey Guys

A question on cached Exchange mode and the GAL. If someone is on cached mode in Outlook 2003/2007, will they ALWAYS be using the Offline Address Book as their GAL and there is no way to use the 'live' address book?

Conversely, if someone is online with Exchange for Outlook 2003/2007, will they ALWAYS be using the 'live' GAL (is there a name for this), and there is no way to use the OAB generated GAL?

Exchange environment is 2003/2007.

Answer : Outlook 'cached' mode/ OAB query

OAB was designed for the user who work on cach mode so that they can have use the address book when they are not connected to the exchange server or in other words when they are working offline.

so if the a user is connect to the exchange in cache mode in outlook that he will be only looking at the OAB.

similarly when a user is connected to the exchange server in online mode he will be looking at the GAL and not the OAB.
