Question : Microsoft Office 2010 trial won't reinstall (not time limit related)

Hello,
I had Microsoft Office 2010 Trial - Home installed.  But I wanted to try out Publisher which only comes with the Professional Plus suite.  So I uninstalled the first version, downloaded and tried to reinstall the Pro version with the given Trial serial number.  I kept getting an error during installation stating that several files in C:\Windows\Installer\xxxxx.msi and \AppData\Local\Temp\xxxx.tmp were not correct. And then the installation proceeded to roll back.  Even when I tried to reinstall the first version I still got the same errors.

I tried several programs to totally get rid of any trace of the previous version: Revo Uninstall, Registry Mechanic and RegistryBooster to clean out any left over bits in the registry.  That didn't work either.

I want to make sure that the Pro Trial will install correctly before I make the actual purchase and find out that THAT won't install.   Attached is the log file that Office Setup created.  Maybe someone can make some sense out of it.

Thanks for any advice or suggestions!

Answer : Microsoft Office 2010 trial won't reinstall (not time limit related)

Try using a "system restore" (to find out how to do it for your operating system simply google "system restore" along with your operating system name).  Restore it to a point before you first installed the betas (note that any programs you might have installed prior to installing the betas, you may have to install again).

Having looked at the setup log provided, it looks like you tried to cancel it several times at the end - is this the case?
