Question : Exchange 2010 Public Folder deletion

Summary:- We have a 2 Server DAG and lost the main server. There are no recovery options as it was early days. The AD is in production so cannot be deleted.
The DAG recovery worked a treat but we now have to delete all the residual entries for the dead server. We are really struggling to get rid of the Public folders that were hosted on it. We have recovered all the system mailboxes and I understand I can get rid of the entries via ADSIEdit but cannot find anything to do with the Public folders.

Answer : Exchange 2010 Public Folder deletion

The Public Folder (PF) info in AD will be in the Configuration Container, under Services -> Microsoft Exchange -> [OrgName] -> Administrative Groups -> Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT) -> Databases -> [PF Database].

If you highlight and delete the entire object under the Databases node that corresponds to the dead server Exchange will forget all about it.  Good luck.
