Question : wordpress editing home page and links

have a wordpress site legacy and am new to the system, and at present just need to edit some links, i have turned off the mod rewrite due to other issues and need to just give hard links to the existing hard links eg xxxx.com/thisisit   and i will be changing it to xxxx.com/?page_id=519
troubls is on the image below there is a finger on a button which apears on every page but caoot find were this code is in the system. i am a joomla user WP is a new system and very pressed for time to get up to spped, any ideas were i can find this what i guess is a plug in

That looks like it will be in sidebar.php or something related to the sidebar.
