Question : Editing table design in design view

Well,

I have a bad habit of actually changing the table design from the design view in SSMS rather than doing it through script but that raises bunch of the problems for me which are rather strange.

Like, whenever I try to do any of the  things like changing the primary key, adding the identity attribute to any integer field. I am thinking  that is this because I am trying to it from design view or this is because I am trying to do the wrong thing itself?
