Question : Recover NTFS Data after Hard drive reformatted with Apple Time Machine

I have a clients enternal hard drive that was accidentally reformatted when using Time Machine on their Mac.  It was originally an NTFS disk that contained all their data.  I have tried using tools like Get Data Back (NTFS) and it successfully see all the files and I can copy them from the disk, but they are all corrupt.  I am able to open txt files without any problem.  All Word docs, PDF's and photos do not open.  Are there any other tools out there that I can use to try and recover data.

Thanks in advance

With GetDataBack, usually there will be a few options for saving a backup. When it lists the the different potential recoveries is could make. The first is not necessarily the "best" one. I'd try some ofthe other's before you give up on GetDataBack.

It's also unclear if you meant "internal" or "external" drive. If it's an external drive, I alway reccomend removing the physical hard drive out of it's enclosure and hooking it up drectly to the system as to avoid any potential problems with the unit's interface. This way you are connected directly to the hard drive and taking the USB/I-1394/eSATA interface out of the loop as a potential problem.
