Issue with Services not starting with bad user name and password after they have be cloned in VMWARE

I am having this issue when I clone some things the service will not start and I have to reset the password it is using a DOMAIN password,

Is it best to shut off the guest prior to the clone ?

If you clone the machines, probably you want to generate a newsid (newsid  whas a good tool, but as expected this tool is not available anymore from the website: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897418.aspx, you can still download it from other sources like softpedia: http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/NewSID-Download-41001.html).

Remove the machine from the domain (do this when the machine is from the network), do a newsid and then enter the domain again.
