Question : Filesharing Windows 7 files for XP Machine
I've just got a Win7 laptop and want to be able to access files on it from my XP Pro laptop. Both are on a wireless network.
On the Win7 machine I have gone to Control Panel | Network and Sharing Center | Avanced sharing settings and ticked all the appropriate boxes like "Turn on file and printer sharing".
I have gone to the folders I want to share and right clicked | Share with | Advanced sharing and set them as shareable.
When I go into Network | Entire Network | Microsoft Windows Network | Workgroup on my XP machine, I can see the name of the Win7 machine but when I try to access it, it gives me the message: "\\Win7Laptop not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource".

Another suggestion:
- Are both the usernames and passwords the same? In advanced sharing, have you typed in Everyone at the top and then clicked Add?
