Question : Copy database from MS SQL Server 2008 to USB

I would like to make a copy of a database from MS SQL Server 2008 to a USB disk. Would making a copy of the LDF and MDF files be enough? I need to install it on another server.

why dont you take back up instead and restore it on another instance.

as LDF and MDF might cause corruption issues.


if you still want to try this.

dettach the database and then copy files, Attach the database again.

same applies to when you install it on other server.
