Question : What Information has to be used for UCC cert for Exchange 2007
I have ordered a UCC cert to use with exchange 2007
The problem is I can not use the name of our root domain in any part of the cert because we do not own the name and they wont issue a cert with the root of our root domain in it - not even an alternate name in the UCC cert.
If I don't use the FQDN of the mail server will it work for users to access OWA by using just the netbios name of the machine? Does autodiscover need the FQDN ?
I have been given a suggestion on using the self signed cert and getting it to be used by the machines on our network but I would like to try and use this UCC cert we already have purchased.

Domain rename with Exchange installed is not supported.
Afraid you are stuck with a self signed certificate.
My blog post provides details of a tool you can use to manage Exchange certificates.
