Question : Motorola MC50 Activesync Problem

When i connect via USB activesync recognises the device but cannot add/remove programs or "explore" the device.

I'm running Activesync 4.5 on Windows XP.

Any ideas what i might be doing wrong? I know the device os is old- so i wonder if that could be the problem. I want to upgrade it to Windows Mobile 5 (posted another question)

Thanks

Answer : Motorola MC50 Activesync Problem

I found a workaround here: http://www.computing.net/answers/pda/activesync-45-workaround/2173.html

- Attach device
- Let ActiveSync start up and attempt to recognize; it wil throw the error
- Task Manager; cancel RapiMgr.exe
- Manually restart RapiMgr.exe via the Run menu
- Reconnect the device.
- Active will throw another error "Critical Communications services have failed to start."
- NONETHELESS, go ahead and explore the device folders anyway. You WILL be connected and can start to transfer files.
