This technique does not require any macros. Type the list of valid
entries in a single column. You can hide this column from the user if
you wish. Select the cell or cells that will display the list of
entries, choose Data -> Data Tools ->
Data Validation, and then click the Settings tab in the Data Validation
dialog box. From the Allow drop-down list, select List. In the Source
box, enter a range address or a reference to the single-column list on
your sheet. Make sure the In-Cell Dropdown check box is selected. If
the list is short, you can simply type the items, each separated by a
comma.
